Dr. Shirin Tabib
PsyD, LMFT
I am a licensed psychologist with a Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) and a diplomate in Marriage and Family Therapy, granted by the California Board of Behavioral Science. As a Board Certified Supervisor, I have mentored and trained numerous therapists while maintaining a private practice dedicated to individuals, couples, and families.
For more than 15 years, I have been a trusted referral source for psychologists, psychiatrists, and clergy, particularly in the highly complex areas of couples therapy, infidelity recovery, and relational conflict. I also specialize in complex trauma, guiding clients through the deep wounds that affect self-worth, intimacy, and identity. My clinical expertise spans addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, grief and loss, sexual and relational challenges, PTSD, and recovery from crime and violence. I also bring extensive experience in working with children and adolescents struggling with depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach is integrative and tailored, blending both practical strategies and deeper, transformative exploration. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Family Systems, Psychodynamic, Existential Humanistic, Solution Focused Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, Mindfulness practices, and Jungian psychology and dream analysis. This allows me to meet each client where they are, whether they seek tools for immediate relief or a more profound exploration of self and relationships.
Why Clients Seek Me Out
My practice attracts professionals, entrepreneurs, creatives, and families who value both expertise and discretion, often seeking a refined, concierge-level therapeutic experience. Clients come to me for: • Relationship challenges, including infidelity, emotional disconnection, and high-conflict dynamics • Complex trauma and unresolved childhood experiences • Anxiety, depression, and performance struggles, including executives, artists, and high achievers • Stress of success, including pressure, visibility, and imposter syndrome • Parenting and family dynamics in affluent or high-profile households • Grief, loss, and major life transitions such as divorce, relocation, or legacy planning • Identity struggles and loneliness, often hidden behind outward success
At the same time, I remain grounded in the universal reasons people seek therapy, including anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, relationship stress, self-esteem challenges, and the natural transitions of life.
A Global Perspective
Having lived in Europe for many years, studied on both U.S. coasts, and traveled extensively across Asia and India, I bring a global and multicultural perspective to my work. Fluent in Farsi
and conversant in Spanish, I am attuned to cultural and intergenerational dynamics, particularly within high-achieving and international families. My practice is inclusive, welcoming both clients who seek a discreet, high-level experience and those who simply need a safe and supportive space to heal.
