Brian Polis
LPCC
Originally hailing from the east coast, I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland (go Terps!) with a B. A. in Psychology and a minor in Human Development. I was also part of the Advocates for Children Scholars Program, a program designed to involve students in advocacy efforts including social, educational, policy, and social justice issues affecting children of diverse backgrounds, their families and communities. I attained my M.S. in Counseling from California State University, Northridge where I focused on Professional Clinical Counseling and School Counseling. In addition to formal education, I have worked intensively with adolescents and adults as an individual, group, and family therapist at a community agency dedicated to treating childhood trauma and preventing child abuse, K-12 institutions, and residential treatment settings. I conduct individual, couples/relationship and family therapy services for adolescents (12+) and adults. Brainspotting & EMDR-trained, I approach therapy with a humanistic mindset focused on developing insight to overcome the barriers that are preventing you from fully living life. I will adapt to your needs balancing empathic listening, validation, challenges, and psychoeducation, always holding your best intentions at heart to set you up for long-term success.
